Chapter Reflection
Name: Alissa Lawson Chapter Number: 6
Summary
Chapter 6 touched on all of the electronics that we use in the 21st century. These devices enhance the learning and teaching experience. Years ago there were limited ways to teach students, be it by book or just a simple explanation, now there are all kinds of devices to help you get your point across to your audience. Educators of any sort have to have the knowhow to work devices such as cameras, projectors, scanners, tablets, flash drives, and whiteboards/smart boards. Without these things the role of an educator would be a bit harder and may not reach the different types of learning styles that each student expresses. But of course with all things technical there are problems that will be encountered; this chapter explains how to overcome some of those issues.
Key Chapter Points
Topic 1: Computer Peripheral Technologies
Topic 2: Stand-Alone Technologies
Topic 3: Wireless Connectivity and Mobile Devices
Topic 4: Technology in Your Classroom: Opportunities and Challenges
Topic 5: Technology in the Classroom: Opportunities
Topic 6: Technology in the Classroom: Challenges
Topic7: Beyond Computers in the Classroom
Reflection
This chapter explained the importance of the use of different technical devices. I personally think that technology has a lot to do with my enhanced learning due to the fact of me being a visual learner. I agree that an educator must know how to use a device before showing or using it in a presentation.
